Those who want to support Jasperites affected by the Jasper Wildfire Complex have one last day to participate in a fundraiser that will benefit the community.
The Skål Club of the Canadian Rockies, an organization that brings together all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, last month launched a global online silent auction, with all proceeds to be donated to the Jasper Community Team Society.
“Our hearts go out to the 17 members of our club who reside and conduct business in Jasper, many of whom have lost their homes and who have seen their lielihoods severely impacted by this tragic event,” said Gord Stermann, President of Skål Canadian Rockies.
Various tourism and hospitality operators have donated experiences and items for auction, including hotel stays, restaurant experiences, ski lift tickets and more with all funds going to Jasper relief. The auction is live now and with bids closing on October 2nd, 2024. To view auction items and place your bid, visit the online auction site.
Stermann said these contributions are just one part of the Rockies’ hospitality industry’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Jasper community during this critical time.
“We strongly endorse all efforts to rebuild Jasper efficiently and expeditiously, and we are committed to playing our part in ensuring the town’s tourism-based economy return to its former glory,” he said.
The fundraiser closes October 2. To view, visit the online auction site.
